I work at a local hospital and this is one of our favorite places to order out! I've never had anything from this place that i didn't like. Crispy rolls and crab rangoon are a couple of my favorite apps. Beyond the basic Pad Thai (which is amazing), I recently tried the Pad Prik, medium, with chicken. It was just what i needed to get through the rest of my 12 hour shift. Perfectly spicy with a delicious brown gravy. I look forward to the days I know we are ordering TN Thai Bistro!

I have eaten thai food all over the metro detroit area as well as in thailand and I don't understand why people love this place. The waitstaff is extremely nice, the location is very conveniently for people in Grosse Point but the food is quite mediocre. It is certainly worth driving a bit further (St. Clair Shores) to get far better flavor. The only dishes worth getting are the standards and noodles (drunken noodles, pad thai, pad see ew, satay, yum apple salad) which work in a pinch, but not great. I'm a big curry fan and those have been a huge let down every time. Also, make sure if you like spice/heat to order very spicy, their hot is quite mild. Another flag for this place is that they serve sushi. Sushi is japanese and should never be made with jalapenos or nacho cheese. Come on...

Seriously my go-to whenever we do take out. Although this may not be the most authentic Thai food you could have, the freshness of the ingredients certainly makes up for this. The staff is courteous. Portions are very generous. The basil fried rice is delicious. Chicken gang gai is my absolute favorite, I haven't had another restaurants that comes close to this dish. One thing I've noticed is that the flavors are very mild. If you're used to the usual thai spice scale, I'd recommend going one step higher than what you would normally do at other thai restaurants. I normally get medium+ from other Thai restaurants, but here I get at least hot, sometimes extra hot. Overall, love this place!

This is a review of vegan sushi. I am not impressed. The rolls are lacking flavor and each piece falls apart. The avocado is under ripe and you can tell the other vegetables aren't fresh. Overall, not worth the money. Go to blufin sushi which is an amazing product for a price you can't beat.

I ordered take out and they were very fast! They had a lot of variety to choose from and the quality of the food was great. Very much like the quality of thai food you can get in San Francisco. I ordered the pad thai, pad prik chicken, a mackeral roll and a yellowtail roll. The prices were great for the small rolls and the only small complaint is that medium spicy is not that spicy at all (from my husband). The highest level of spice you can get was perfect for me because if they went authentic thai hot like they do in the city, I'd be in for something else!

Wow wow wow ...been waiting to go here for a while, since I moved close to the lake. This place met my expectations and then exceeded them! The look and feel of the place is relaxing. The booths are very comfortable, the tables are inviting and the atmosphere is just serene. It's not loud but it's not "I can hear a pin drop" quiet. Located in a busy area of Grosse Pointe, this is up there with the best eateries in the neighborhood. Where do I begin? I ate so much food in one sitting, I felt like a mix between Henry VIII and William Howard Taft. The SO and I first split edamame and crab rangoon -- both were quite dleicious. For $3 they give you a lot of edamame, and it's not the kind where the soy beans are already out; you actually have to "suck" them out of the pod. Very good. And the ragoon was among the best I have had anywhere, notably the sauce that is served with it. Mmm mmm good. Now, I'm not the biggest Thai fan in the world, but the drunken noodle I ate her was simply amazing. It comes with bell peppers, bamboo shoots, sprouts, basil and is covered in bourbon sauce. I ordered the "mild" and it was still quite spicy ...some people can really feel the burn when it comes to Thai food! It was awesome, though, and I would definitely eat it again. It was filling but not Italian pasta-like filling. Oh, but wait ...there's moooore! I also got the spicy salmon roll, which was 8 pieces of deliciousness at my fingertips. The salmon was excellent, as was the spicy mayo. Great kick, especially with the ginger and wasabi. The SO loved her veggie sushi rolls, too, and they were pretty huge. The service was excellent. Our waitress came frequently and filled us in on menu items we maybe weren't sure about (she explained that I/O stands for "inside out" for the sushi, meaning the outside is rice and not seaweed. The more you know...). Also, another woman would walk around and fill up our water glasses. That was great because my food was on the spicier side. The presentation is also very good, with the plates and soy sauce holder and all. Each table has extra spices as well, if needed. I have no complaints at all. For three Sushi rolls, drunken noodle, rangoon and edamame, the bill was less than $40. Not bad for great food in an area that is notorious for expensive restaurants. Will come again, and hopefully soon.

Grosse Pointe is always an interesting place to come to when you spend a good chunk of time in Detroit, but we crossed the border anyway to have some dinner at TN Thai. The staff was very friendly and patient with us. Instead of breadsticks, we received a basket of shrimp chips which was a pleasant surprise! We ordered the Curry Noodle with Chicken and the Potato Curry. The food came quickly and the serving sizes were very generous. I think we only finished about a third of each plate and we packed up the rest to bring home for leftovers. My curry noodle was delicious - there was enough sauce to keep the noodles tasty and flavorful. My friend really enjoyed the potato curry and commented on how the potato chunks were very full of flavor - not bland like you would expect with such large chunks. Overall, it was a good, safe option for a quick dinner in the area.

Whenever I crave Thai food this is the first place that comes to mind. They have hands down the BEST Thai food. All their ingredients are fresh and their portion sizes are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. And omg the service! Wow what a great staff. Everyone is always so nice and polite! It's a very enjoyable experience coming here that is why I continue to come back :) Oh and my favorite thing to get here are the drunken noodles with vegetables. Soooooo freaking good! They add mushrooms which I love and I always substitute bell peppers for pineapple. Just moved to the area from Detroit where I used to order the drunken noodles from Bangkok Crossing down on woodward. I loved the dish from there so I figured I'd give the drunken noodles from here a try. They were actually way better! They tasted less salty yet still filled with flavor. Also can I say how satisfied I was with the service?! Our food came out in literally under 10 minutes of ordering and our waitress kept my glass filled with water. I love the location. The large windows give the place a great downtown feel as you can watch the traffic drive by. A+!!

I haven't been to this place in about a year until today and couldn't remember how it was. True to my nature I ordered sushi. The service was great and the food was reasonably priced (especially for it to be in Grosse Point) and awesome. My hand roll was huge filled with a TON of tuna. My nigiri was a nice size too I was actually shocked. The Shrimp California was also very good. I tend to stick to the raw sushi but wanted to try something I never had. Overall this place was awesome and I definitely will be coming back!

This is my favorite thai place in the area! The staff and management are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is fresh and delicious, comes out reasonably fast, and they never get our orders mixed up. We took my mom here when she visited from California and she loved it, too! The only legit Asian restaurant on the Eastside & I know because I am an Asian American always on the lookout for Asian food in Michigan. We lived in the neighborhood for years and ate here once a week. If the sweet owner, Mrs. Nalee Yang, stops by your table, get to know her because she will remember you and your family. We have our standby orders that they know: my kid and I split the BOAT for lunch (sashimi, California Roll, chicken teriyaki, tempura, pickled cucumber, and salad), all in a big bento the shape of a boat that they only serve at lunch. Other dishes for lunch or dinner or take-out: #1) Masaman Curry. So rich with coconut milk and real peanut; I get it with beef, chicken, or tofu. #2) Noodles - Pad Thai, Pad See-Ew, or Voon-Sen. I like their Spider Roll too when we take guests. It's the only place around where you can get Boba Tea or slush and homemade Coconut Ice Cream.

A perfect intersection between Thai and Japanese cuisine. My wife judges Thai restaurants based on the pad Thai, and this place's dish rates high on her list. I went with the sizzling eggplant with chicken and beef. The dish was slathered in a thick spicy brown sauce, which provided a perfect backdrop for the healthy slices of eggplant. For the family looking for value, the kids cheesy noodles and chicken fried rice were healthy helpings at a very reasonable price. I had lunch today at Thai Bistro. I usually go to at Sala Thai in my neighborhood. But I was having lunch with a friend who lives within walking distance of Thai Bistro so we decided to go there. And I am so glad I did. To be on the safe side I ordered Pad Thai and Hot & Sour soup. Both were delicious especially the soup. I ordered Tofu in my Pad Thai and it was cooked just right. I actually enjoyed this Thai food a lot better than Sala Thai. It had much more flavor and tasted more authentic. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I thought the portions could have been larger. But other than that is was great.

I've visited this place several times. I'm Thai, and my in-laws are American who live in GP and I always order here when I have a craving. I've tried almost everything and it's decent. They didn't have the typical papaya salad and my server didn't know what it was (very sad). Sushi isn't fresh, summer roll with chicken is not a traditional summer roll because their chicken is not shredded (dipping sauce is good though), curry paste is from the can, and Pad Thai was bland. The only thing I love here is the Pad Woon Sen, but sometimes they over soak the bean thread noodles so it gives it a mushy texture. Lastly, their spice level is accommodating. My mother consults for many successful Thai restaurants and so I guess I have high standards. But if you're in the area, and are craving Thai food, this place will do alright. Oh, and if it matters to you, because it DOESN'T matter to me..the owners and cooks are of Hmong ethnicity. Ambiance is real pretty though.

I said it about Italian food and I'll it again about Thai food I don't know what great Thai food tastes like but I know what I like. Since moving to the area a little over a year ago and away from our former favorite Thai place it was a nice surprise to find this so close to home and so good. I usually get the kow pad fried rice and it is always good. I have also had the sesame chicken and liked it a lot too. The only strange thing is you can never predict how busy it will be. Sometimes it may just be you and the staff and other times we have to wait 20 minutes.

I waffled on three and four stars. The service and food has always been good, and a good value for the price too. I typically get the Pad Eggplant with chicken but have also had Pad Thai and Chicken Satay. I was a first time customer this weekend. I was craving thai food and boy am I glad I came here after a recommendation by my boss. I got the Pad Prik and it was delish. My fiance got a 3 sushi rolls and some sashimi. Everything tasted so fresh! You know those nights when you are just too tired to cook and want something cheap and tasty but don't want to drive through the drive thru - TN THAI is where it's at. It's practically fast food, when you think about how quickly the food comes out (a little too quickly sometimes)..except the portions are enough to last you two, maybe three days! The prices are definitely fair for what you are getting, and the food is always consistent. We have probably been here a dozen times or more times and it always hits the spot.. The service is quick and efficient (again, maybe a bit TOO quick and efficient..oftentimes your bill is on the table as soon as your meal comes out)..and you always know what you are getting. This is definitely a village staple and a well-run, well-oiled business. Visited with my husband today for the 1st time. He had the Pad Thai, and I had the Seafood Curry, both Medium Spice. The hubby doesn't like much spice but I do. He ordered Medium as many restaurants really don't spice at all if you ask for Mild. His was a bit too spicy but still ok. Mine had no spice whatsoever...disappointed. I'm not sure if the sauce absorbed the spiciness or what but was still tasty. Would order again if not in the mood for a spicy dish or may try Hot instead. I asked the server, and they don't have any spicy soups whatsoever :( The interior is pleasant & comfortable. Nicer than usual for a Thai restaurant and has outdoor seating. My only real complaint is that the server took our drink order and actually waited (several minutes) till our appetizer was ready and brought everything together. IMO they take avoiding too many trips to a table a bit too far, and they weren't that busy. Despite any issues, it was overall a nice visit and we look forward to our next one. Would definitely recommend.

I have eaten here enough times now to say with certainty this is the best Thai food around. I just had the most delicious Drunken Noodles with squid and Tom Yum with chicken I have ever had anywhere. I get something different every time I eat here and have never had a bad meal. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is very enjoyable as well. I highly recommend this restaurant and can almost guarantee if you are a fan of Thai food you will not be disappointed. But beware...they take spicy seriously here! The area is a nice little main street, a couple of coffee places and a couple of sandwich places, and places for women to shop. This place seem to be a reasonable place for dinner. It's bigger than you think, with inside an outside seating. Outside seating allows decent people watching opportunities. Inside was pleasant enough. A good size menu, typical Thai offerings, with a couple of more traditional Chinese options. Typical Thai, with the price option of Tofu, Chicken, Pork, Beef, Shrimp. They start you off with the Thai chips - multiple color rice crispy chips. Prices are a little high, but not unreasonable. But the portions were quite large, so much that both the wife and I both took home left overs. The wife went with Pad Thai, with Tufo and mild heat, which was OK, a little bland, and Tufo is tough with Pad Thai - I always think you are better off with a stronger protein. I went with my favorite, Coconut yellow curry with potatoes and tufo, with medium heat. I really like letting the rice soak up the yellow curry. Medium was a little strong, but I could handle it. No complaints about the service, fast and efficient.

We live nearby and eat here regularly. The food is great, we have never been disappointed with a dish. Everything is prepared well and presented nicely. The staff is very friendly, and even when we don't have one of the "regular" servers we know, the newer staff do just as good of a job, so I can tell they spend some time making sure everyone is well trained. The owner usually stops by and greets each guest personally - I hate when managers at chains do that, but it's sweet and endearing when this lady does it. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants to make sure you're happy. The sushi room addition added several more booths which you can't see from the outside or when you walk in, so it's usually no problem getting a booth if you prefer that. They also have an outside seating area. The restaurant is located right in the heart of the Village and there's a municipal lot directly behind it and street parking.

I hadn't had Thai for a while so I was excited to try TN Thai Bistro. I didn't realize they served sushi until I got there, and if I ever went back that's what I would order. My dining companion ordered a nice little sashimi salad that looked great, and was nicely priced at $6. I, on the other hand, ordered the "special", and was really disappointed. It was advertised as a chicken dish with broccoli, spinach and topped with a peanut sauce. I like all those things so I decided to try it. I thought it would be a stir fry kinda thing, but it was these dry chicken planks placed on a bed of spinach and broccoli and the whole thing SOAKED in peanut sauce. The spinach was so soaked in it that I couldn't taste the spinach at all, just the sauce oozing out of it. Kinda makes me a little queasy thinking of it. I don't like to complain and am usually a trooper, but when my dining companion saw how miserable I was trying to get this thing down we sent it back. The manager took it off the bill no questions asked, but I have to question who they have cooking their Thai dishes. It didn't look or taste authentic at all. It seemed like the kind of "Thai" dish someone would make who wasn't familiar with the cuisine. I've spent considerable time in California and have had some of the best and most authentic Thai food you can get outside of Thailand, and this just didn't stack up. I felt sorry for our poor server who apologized profusely, who I told not to worry and it wasn't her fault. Awkward. The sushi menu looked good, and when I went to the restroom I poked my head around the corner where they have the sushi bar in the back. It looked real nice. Next time I would only get the sushi. They totally lost me on the Thai. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and not judge all the Thai dishes on the basis of just this one, but anyone who would send out chicken that dry and soak a dish with that much peanut sauce so that it's the ONLY thing you taste clearly shows me they have a serious disconnect about Thai food, and simply what tastes good (NOT a quart of peanut sauce). I hope they get their kitchen remedied because it's a nice location.

I eat here all the time with my friends as there's something on the menu for everyone. As an experienced consumer of Thai food, their menu is solid, but not special. They definitely tone down the spiciness. I ordered my meal with 'hot' spicing, and was warned repeatedly that this was "very spicy." After reassuring them that I would be fine I was disappointed to find that the spicing was closer to what I'd consider 'medium' at most places. They also offer a 'no spice' option, which is quite popular with the locals. Staff is polite and efficient, and the dining room is clean and is designed to look "Thai." Delicious kow pad, rangoons, pad Thai, and spring rolls. We did carryout and it was ready when they said it would be. Easy to park and walk in to grab. The restaurant itself is on the corner with a lot of natural light and windows, great for people watching. Overall, I'd say some of the best Thai I've had in all of Detroit!

Ugh. I'm so disappointed! I was excited to try this restaurant thinking how great it would be to have a Thai place so near to home. I tried to go here tonight and couldn't get served. We were seated after about a five minute wait. Someone brought our water and the poufy chips. Wait staff walked by. Other tables were sat and had their orders taken. It was as though we had disappeared. Fifteen minutes without any other acknowledgement from an employee and we left; never to return.

It's a fallback for us when we don't want to venture out of the GP bubble. The sushi is the best we have on the east side. A little heavy on the rice. Their soy sauce, aged in wooden vats according to the owner, is the best I've had. Kow Pad, Pad Thai are good, but the flavor and texture doesn't match what I've experienced in Thailand.

I have never even had a mediocre experience here! That's a feat in itself!! My BF and I have had both the Thai and the Sushi. Again ALWAYS GOOD!! The Pad Thai with tofu and coconut curry sauce is like the song Dream Weaver should play while you eat it. No for real it's that good. It's like a dish of dreamy noodles slipping around in this golden yellow sauce of the gods!! Yes I like it!!! ahahaha Can you tell!! My fav sushi roll is the spicy volcano. Yummers! The seaweed salad is chilled and seasoned just right and they give you a nice helping of it which is great because sea weed salad is one of my all time fav foods. The service is beyond friendly, the guys working the sushi bar are so awesome. I enjoy sitting up there more so then in a booth. Jasmine tea! Then serve yummy hot or iced jasmine tea that's to die for. I am always torn when I go on which one to order. They do not have a full bar but they do serve beer and wine. which works!! So grab a pal or your honey and take a stroll thru the village and get some yummy Thai to warm your belly!!

My sidekick Pepper (who always makes me decide dinner) is decisive all of a sudden and says she wants sushi and we have limited time left to get it so I whip out the Yelp! app on my phone and see a place called TN Thai Bistro close by with decent reviews. The restaurant is long and narrow with one side of the restaurant all window, which is nice because Kercheval is nice to look at. The servers here have a demeanor that is so pleasant that I feel like I just had a massage after dealing with them. Seared Ahi Tuna looked not so seared (I'm used to a blackened crust) but the the taste was top. The sushi (Yellow Tail, TN Roll) where very good. Salad with house dressing (like a ginger vinagarete or something) was just ok. I want to come back and try the Thai Food next time.

Ah, the Village in Grosse Pointe. Home of quaint shops, the affluent walking pure-bred dogs in relaxed comfort and... Thai food? As a former GP resident who needed to eat between a rehearsal and a gig in the area, I was just hoping for an OK sandwich shop when I stumbled upon this place. My meal started with a fragrant, comforting soup with a coconut base. The kow pad fried rice was not greasy; its veggies and sauce combined to give a pleasant, outdoor grill flavor. The veggie pad pak sauce was refreshingly thin; at mild strength, it subtly illuminated (rather than obscured) the perfectly crisp veggies with a light, spicy tang. The spring roll was steamy and thready, accompanied by a fruity plum sauce. Though not as splendid as the redoubtable Thai Taste in Troy, TN Thai Bistro is way above average Thai fare. First, an African-American president and now find Thai food in Grosse Pointe. Could a Lions Super Bowl be next? Sorry, got carried away.

Whoa! Wasn't expecting it...but it truly is the best sushi in town! My mother and I go here all the time when I'm home in Michigan to visit, and now that I've moved home, we've made it a weekly tradition to have lunch here in downtown Grosse Pointe. My favorites are the Village Roll (not on the menu, just ask!), the Inside Out Salmon Roll, and the Dragon Roll. Not feeling sushi? They have an entire thai menu that never disappoints. My favorite is the Pad Thai with shrimp, or the TN Thai duck. Enjoy, yelpers!

I want to commend TN Thai Bistro in Grosse Point for an excellent dinner. First, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and were promptly seated in the dining room. We were having my birthday dinner, and my wife and I had our 14 month old son and my father in law with us. After we were seated, we were promptly greeted by our waiter, who offered drinks as usual, but then offered to get food out right away for our son because he apparently knew about kids waiting for food. When he took our dinner order, he offered us the special which he described in detail, and was very attentive to our order, making sure to vet it for possible allergy problems, Which fortunately we don't have. Our food was delivered after our son ate. The Rangoon was perfectly cooked and the sushi was wonderful. We will come back because this place is picking up its game.

This is MY Thai place. I take the cruise down Jefferson from downtown Detroit (Even though I lived ACROSS THE STREET from Salathai) I place my to go order with the lovely hostesses in the front, and then mosey on over to Trader Joe's or Border's or even the ACE Hardware. And just enjoy the suburbs before my drive back to the city. The pad thai and sushi and spring rolls are awesome. This is a must try!

I lived in Grosse Pointe Park for two years. Yet it took me until today, 3 years later, to make it into TN Thai Bistro. There are many reasons I moved out of Grosse Pointe, but had I tried TN Thai earlier, this place would NOT be one of them. The atmosphere leaves some to be desired, and I wanted to throw up in my mouth listening to the GP high school girls in the booth behind me going on endlessly in valley girl accents talking about the girls at school that they don't like, and all the terrible things they do to bully them both in person and online. Disgusting. But that's a whole other conversation.... Onto the food!!! My friend and I each had a bowl of miso. We split a philadelphia roll, a shrimp california, and a specialty roll called the Michigan. 2 regular rolls, 1 specialty, and the soups - $25!!!! We even had sushi left over! Unbelievable. Especially considering many places will charge $15 for a specialty roll alone. The philly and shrimp cali were good, but it's pretty hard to mess them up. The Michigan roll is a combination of tuna, yellowtail, cucumber and I think something else. Speciality rolls are often larger, but this roll took it to a new level. It was near impossible to fit in my mouth (that's what she said)! And when I did manage to cram it in there, it filled my mouth up so much that it took about a solid minute before I was able to swallow it down (again...that's what she said). This colossal roll was the reason why we had some left over. I guess we got the most for our money, but all I could think of was that i was glad I was with a girlfriend and not on a date! Add the Michigan roll to the list of things that are awkward to eat in front of someone you are trying to impress. The sushi is good, and comes out relatively fast. I cannot believe the good prices! I will be making it a point to stop by here and try more of their sushi menu next time I am in GP. By time we got our check, all the other tables in our section had cleared out, yet it took our server a good 10 minutes to pick it back up once we put our credit card in. Why? No biggie though, we were happily chatting anyway. And I can't wait til karma catches up with those terrible girls.

We come here for a work lunch every three weeks or so. The food is consistently delicious and wonderful. The thai iced coffee is great to beat the afternoon doldrums. Everything I've tried is awesome, and everyone else has their favorites that they order every time. Any time we go out for lunch, we always try and talk our boss into coming here.

There's a lot to like about TN. The location is very nice, in the village (?) area of GP. The service is very friendly - they opened for us a few minutes early. And the food is pretty good. I had the Pad Eggplant combo plate. There was plenty of eggplant, which I was craving, and it was tasty. The lunch combo is a good value - fried rice + springroll. The springroll, though, is probably the weakest part of the meal. Something about it tasted a little off. Also, if you work at the nearby hospital, you get 10% off your lunch (score!). If I'm feeling like Thai while in GP, I'm heading to TN.

This is the best Thai food I have had in Michigan and the quality has remained consistent throughout the years. While they do have some dishes that are not authentic like the sesame chicken, you can get authentic dishes and in my opinion they all taste good. Some of my favorites are the cheesy noodle, prik king and voon sen aside from the common dishes like pad thai, kow pad, etc. After moving to Ann Arbor, I have not found another restaurant that compares to this one. As a Grosse Pointe native, I feel like this place is a gem amongst all the classic American restaurants. It's the only sushi outlet I know of in the area and is one of the few restaurants with outdoor seating. I am a bit biased since I worked here during highschool but that was back in 2006 when it opened. I worked in the back so I know the sauces were made by the cooks as well as myself since I had to prepare them every morning when I was a server.

I had been looking forward to trying this establishment for a few weeks. I went there tonight with my girlfriend for dinner. We waited for exactly fifteen minutes to be served, but a waiter never arrived. The two tables in our section that came in several minutes after us were served promptly. So we left. We had a fine meal at the Village Grille down the street. After having dessert at a local frozen yogurt store and I dropped back in too T.N. Bistro to mention our experience with manager... only to be told that the manager had left the building and would not be back until tomorrow. This was at 9:44pm. So I simply left. Obviously I will not be back.

The service at this restaurant is good, and it's nice that they give you a basket of those fish flavored rice chips when you sit down. But there is something seriously off with the dishes. I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and his parents. We all ordered different dishes, and each one of us some some sort of complaint (well, not his mother because she's too sweet to complain about anything). The boyfriend's father got tofu noodles with peanut sauce and said it had no flavor. Boyfriend got red tofu curry that made him sick. And I ordered, as I always order at a Thai restaurant, veggie pad see ewe... but this noodle dish, unlike all others I've had before, came out black. Black?! Yes, black. Clearly they had burnt the soy sauce, but on top of that, I did not taste any sweetness or fish sauce, which are the only other 2 flavoring ingredients in pad see ewe. Soy sauce, sugar, fish sauce...not that hard to mess up. I've even made better at home. Luckily, just about any dish stir fried dish can be saved with the addition of some sambal oelek... unfortunately, this time it was used to mask the flavors rather than enhance them. But maybe their sushi is ok?

Was ok. Nothing tasted great. The crabcakes were decent but I've had better. Been there a few times and kitchen seems inconsistent as well as the staff. The vegi's in the tofu veg dish were hardly trimmer not cut into mouth size pieces. If your going to do that at least provide me with a knife. Service was lacking in general.

TN Thai Bistro, wheres the Thai food I had Japanese? I walked in and it looked like a small cafe shop, but if you walk in further than you'll see a seating area with a wide open concept. The place was very simple and right to the point the first seating area looked like a coffee shop where you would just grab a drink and sit and chat it up. The 2nd part of the place looked more like a place you would sit down and dine which was a nice concept. The reason we were here was to get sushi, but I was already a little worried about the sushi b/c the name of the place is TN Thai Bistro. Japanese food at a Thai named restaurant I dunno. But mind you all the places I've been to in Michigan haven't disappointed me yet. The many waitresses that were serving us were very friendly and even gave us suggestions on what to get especially since it was my first time there, my cousins on the other hand have been there many times. Overall the sushi was very good, the rice was well done, the seaweed they used was very fresh and crisp and the fish that they used tasted fresh as well. My only complaint is that they used a little too much rice on the maki rolls but it wasn't overwhelming like other places. Only reason it got three stars from me is b/c I haven't tried the whole Thai portion of the menu yet. Items to definitely get: - spicy volcano - spider roll - spicy salmon roll

This restaurant was recommended by employee at Trader Joe's, so I gave it a try. My girl friend and I decided to order Sushi and not the Thai food. The service was good, but the sushi was not anything special at all. We ordered 3 different 'special' rolls and each were very bland. Not that it's a big deal, but the appearance of the Sushi was also disappointing. Came out on plain white plate, nothing special. Guess we are used to being spoiled by Asahi Sushi in Clinton Township, by far the best all round Sushi and Korean/Japanese food around!

This place is very much open! Please update listing. My current favorite Thai restaurant. The atmosphere is so inviting-beautiful, airy, pleasant, and clean. The staff is always sweet and pleasant, very attentive, and on the ball without being overbearing. An owner or manager lady also checks in from time to time with the most contagious smile ever. You can get a glass of wine, the prices are decent, they're kid friendly, and most importantly the food is delicious! LOVE the green curry and they never get my picky order wrong. Portions are huge! The delicious homemade coconut ice cream will have the table raving. The ambiance of the newly opened sushi room is intimate and lovely too. Consistently a wonderful experience.

Big variety of Asian dishes. General most Asian fusion restaurants are pretty weak at doing more than Americanized Chinese, that is not the case here. Good Chinese and Thai dishes as well as some tasty sushi. I highly recommend giving them a chance, their satay is delicious and the avocado delight is a-maz-balls!

I work at a local hospital and this is one of our favorite places to order out! I've never had anything from this place that i didn't like. Crispy rolls and crab rangoon are a couple of my favorite apps. Beyond the basic Pad Thai (which is amazing), I recently tried the Pad Prik, medium, with chicken. It was just what i needed to get through the rest of my 12 hour shift. Perfectly spicy with a delicious brown gravy. I look forward to the days I know we are ordering TN Thai Bistro!

I have eaten thai food all over the metro detroit area as well as in thailand and I don't understand why people love this place. The waitstaff is extremely nice, the location is very conveniently for people in Grosse Point but the food is quite mediocre. It is certainly worth driving a bit further (St. Clair Shores) to get far better flavor. The only dishes worth getting are the standards and noodles (drunken noodles, pad thai, pad see ew, satay, yum apple salad) which work in a pinch, but not great. I'm a big curry fan and those have been a huge let down every time. Also, make sure if you like spice/heat to order very spicy, their hot is quite mild. Another flag for this place is that they serve sushi. Sushi is japanese and should never be made with jalapenos or nacho cheese. Come on...

Seriously my go-to whenever we do take out. Although this may not be the most authentic Thai food you could have, the freshness of the ingredients certainly makes up for this. The staff is courteous. Portions are very generous. The basil fried rice is delicious. Chicken gang gai is my absolute favorite, I haven't had another restaurants that comes close to this dish. One thing I've noticed is that the flavors are very mild. If you're used to the usual thai spice scale, I'd recommend going one step higher than what you would normally do at other thai restaurants. I normally get medium+ from other Thai restaurants, but here I get at least hot, sometimes extra hot. Overall, love this place!

This is a review of vegan sushi. I am not impressed. The rolls are lacking flavor and each piece falls apart. The avocado is under ripe and you can tell the other vegetables aren't fresh. Overall, not worth the money. Go to blufin sushi which is an amazing product for a price you can't beat.

I ordered take out and they were very fast! They had a lot of variety to choose from and the quality of the food was great. Very much like the quality of thai food you can get in San Francisco. I ordered the pad thai, pad prik chicken, a mackeral roll and a yellowtail roll. The prices were great for the small rolls and the only small complaint is that medium spicy is not that spicy at all (from my husband). The highest level of spice you can get was perfect for me because if they went authentic thai hot like they do in the city, I'd be in for something else!

Wow wow wow ...been waiting to go here for a while, since I moved close to the lake. This place met my expectations and then exceeded them! The look and feel of the place is relaxing. The booths are very comfortable, the tables are inviting and the atmosphere is just serene. It's not loud but it's not "I can hear a pin drop" quiet. Located in a busy area of Grosse Pointe, this is up there with the best eateries in the neighborhood. Where do I begin? I ate so much food in one sitting, I felt like a mix between Henry VIII and William Howard Taft. The SO and I first split edamame and crab rangoon -- both were quite dleicious. For $3 they give you a lot of edamame, and it's not the kind where the soy beans are already out; you actually have to "suck" them out of the pod. Very good. And the ragoon was among the best I have had anywhere, notably the sauce that is served with it. Mmm mmm good. Now, I'm not the biggest Thai fan in the world, but the drunken noodle I ate her was simply amazing. It comes with bell peppers, bamboo shoots, sprouts, basil and is covered in bourbon sauce. I ordered the "mild" and it was still quite spicy ...some people can really feel the burn when it comes to Thai food! It was awesome, though, and I would definitely eat it again. It was filling but not Italian pasta-like filling. Oh, but wait ...there's moooore! I also got the spicy salmon roll, which was 8 pieces of deliciousness at my fingertips. The salmon was excellent, as was the spicy mayo. Great kick, especially with the ginger and wasabi. The SO loved her veggie sushi rolls, too, and they were pretty huge. The service was excellent. Our waitress came frequently and filled us in on menu items we maybe weren't sure about (she explained that I/O stands for "inside out" for the sushi, meaning the outside is rice and not seaweed. The more you know...). Also, another woman would walk around and fill up our water glasses. That was great because my food was on the spicier side. The presentation is also very good, with the plates and soy sauce holder and all. Each table has extra spices as well, if needed. I have no complaints at all. For three Sushi rolls, drunken noodle, rangoon and edamame, the bill was less than $40. Not bad for great food in an area that is notorious for expensive restaurants. Will come again, and hopefully soon.

Grosse Pointe is always an interesting place to come to when you spend a good chunk of time in Detroit, but we crossed the border anyway to have some dinner at TN Thai. The staff was very friendly and patient with us. Instead of breadsticks, we received a basket of shrimp chips which was a pleasant surprise! We ordered the Curry Noodle with Chicken and the Potato Curry. The food came quickly and the serving sizes were very generous. I think we only finished about a third of each plate and we packed up the rest to bring home for leftovers. My curry noodle was delicious - there was enough sauce to keep the noodles tasty and flavorful. My friend really enjoyed the potato curry and commented on how the potato chunks were very full of flavor - not bland like you would expect with such large chunks. Overall, it was a good, safe option for a quick dinner in the area.

Whenever I crave Thai food this is the first place that comes to mind. They have hands down the BEST Thai food. All their ingredients are fresh and their portion sizes are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. And omg the service! Wow what a great staff. Everyone is always so nice and polite! It's a very enjoyable experience coming here that is why I continue to come back :) Oh and my favorite thing to get here are the drunken noodles with vegetables. Soooooo freaking good! They add mushrooms which I love and I always substitute bell peppers for pineapple. They always give me a generous amount unlike some other places I've gone where I had to dig into my plate to find them.

Just moved to the area from Detroit where I used to order the drunken noodles from Bangkok Crossing down on woodward. I loved the dish from there so I figured I'd give the drunken noodles from here a try. They were actually way better! They tasted less salty yet still filled with flavor. Also can I say how satisfied I was with the service?! Our food came out in literally under 10 minutes of ordering and our waitress kept my glass filled with water. I love the location. The large windows give the place a great downtown feel as you can watch the traffic drive by. A+!!

I haven't been to this place in about a year until today and couldn't remember how it was. True to my nature I ordered sushi. The service was great and the food was reasonably priced (especially for it to be in Grosse Point) and awesome. My hand roll was huge filled with a TON of tuna. My nigiri was a nice size too I was actually shocked. The Shrimp California was also very good. I tend to stick to the raw sushi but wanted to try something I never had. Overall this place was awesome and I definitely will be coming back!

This is my favorite thai place in the area! The staff and management are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is fresh and delicious, comes out reasonably fast, and they never get our orders mixed up. We took my mom here when she visited from California and she loved it, too! Always get the same thing. Drunken noodles beef and a special Cali roll. Food portions are huge and well delicious. However the spice levels aren't very consistent but still good. My boyfriend and I discovered this little gem! I absolutely LOVE it. Their menu is amazing and their sauces are so flavorful. I am a sushi lover and their sushi is inexpensive, fresh and delicious. The only legit Asian restaurant on the Eastside & I know because I am an Asian American always on the lookout for Asian food in Michigan. We lived in the neighborhood for years and ate here once a week. If the sweet owner, Mrs. Nalee Yang, stops by your table, get to know her because she will remember you and your family. We have our standby orders that they know: my kid and I split the BOAT for lunch (sashimi, California Roll, chicken teriyaki, tempura, pickled cucumber, and salad), all in a big bento the shape of a boat that they only serve at lunch. Other dishes for lunch or dinner or take-out: #1) Masaman Curry. So rich with coconut milk and real peanut; I get it with beef, chicken, or tofu. #2) Noodles - Pad Thai, Pad See-Ew, or Voon-Sen. I like their Spider Roll too when we take guests. It's the only place around where you can get Boba Tea or slush and homemade Coconut Ice Cream.

A perfect intersection between Thai and Japanese cuisine. My wife judges Thai restaurants based on the pad Thai, and this place's dish rates high on her list. I went with the sizzling eggplant with chicken and beef. The dish was slathered in a thick spicy brown sauce, which provided a perfect backdrop for the healthy slices of eggplant. For the family looking for value, the kids cheesy noodles and chicken fried rice were healthy helpings at a very reasonable price. The place made for an endearing family dining experience on a Sunday evening.

I kinda felt bad that we didn't need anything. The location is great and close to the parking garage behind Trader Joes. I will definitely go back to this place. Clean, priced right, and tasty!

This is our go-to neighborhood Thai place, and have it at least 1-2 times per month, mostly carry out, and the carry out is ALWAYS right! That is award winning for sure, especially since we've been going there for years! The food is always consistently good and fresh. Its the type of food that is soooo good that you want to eat it in the privacy of your own home because of the weird sounds of satisfaction you're making as you slurp away at your pad Thai with curry sauce. I had lunch today at Thai Bistro. I usually go to at Sala Thai in my neighborhood. But I was having lunch with a friend who lives within walking distance of Thai Bistro so we decided to go there. And I am so glad I did. To be on the safe side I ordered Pad Thai and Hot & Sour soup. Both were delicious especially the soup. I ordered Tofu in my Pad Thai and it was cooked just right. I actually enjoyed this Thai food a lot better than Sala Thai. It had much more flavor and tasted more authentic. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I thought the portions could have been larger. But other than that is was great.

I've visited this place several times. I'm Thai, and my in-laws are American who live in GP and I always order here when I have a craving. I've tried almost everything and it's decent. They didn't have the typical papaya salad and my server didn't know what it was (very sad). Sushi isn't fresh, summer roll with chicken is not a traditional summer roll because their chicken is not shredded (dipping sauce is good though), curry paste is from the can, and Pad Thai was bland. The only thing I love here is the Pad Woon Sen, but sometimes they over soak the bean thread noodles so it gives it a mushy texture. Lastly, their spice level is accommodating. My mother consults for many successful Thai restaurants and so I guess I have high standards. But if you're in the area, and are craving Thai food, this place will do alright. Oh, and if it matters to you, because it DOESN'T matter to me..the owners and cooks are of Hmong ethnicity. Ambiance is real pretty though.

I said it about Italian food and I'll it again about Thai food I don't know what great Thai food tastes like but I know what I like. Since moving to the area a little over a year ago and away from our former favorite Thai place it was a nice surprise to find this so close to home and so good. I usually get the kow pad fried rice and it is always good. I have also had the sesame chicken and liked it a lot too. The only strange thing is you can never predict how busy it will be. Sometimes it may just be you and the staff and other times we have to wait 20 minutes.

I waffled on three and four stars. The service and food has always been good, and a good value for the price too. They aren't so great with special requests; you sort of get a look that says "we'll see" rather than "no problem." I judge a Thai restaurant by its pad thai. Fair, right? And let me tell you, this restaurant hits its pad thai OUT of the ball park. I got the beef extra hot, take out. Phenomenal. The portions are a great size. They served it with the customary crushed peanuts and lemon wedge. I would so go back. The restaurant itself is super cute and in a warm, inviting neighborhood. I'm going back with my friends.

I was a first time customer this weekend. I was craving thai food and boy am I glad I came here after a recommendation by my boss. I got the Pad Prik and it was delish. My fiance got a 3 sushi rolls and some sashimi. Everything tasted so fresh! The resturant is nice and the sushi smell is not overwhelming like at other places since the sushi bar is in a seperate room. We will deffinately be back again and again!

You know those nights when you are just too tired to cook and want something cheap and tasty but don't want to drive through the drive thru - TN THAI is where it's at. It's practically fast food, when you think about how quickly the food comes out (a little too quickly sometimes)..except the portions are enough to last you two, maybe three days! The prices are definitely fair for what you are getting, and the food is always consistent. We have probably been here a dozen times or more times and it always hits the spot.. The service is quick and efficient (again, maybe a bit TOO quick and efficient..oftentimes your bill is on the table as soon as your meal comes out)..and you always know what you are getting. This is definitely a village staple and a well-run, well-oiled business. (This is not the place to go out for a romantic evening though, its more of I'm in my sweats and hungry what can we get that's cheap and good like now!")

Great sushi! Been here twice; great location. Nice ambience with the exception of the stacked towers of styrofoam takeout containers next to the sushi bar- you can't see over them. Tacky. But the great food makes it worthwhile. All the rolls are great . The apple salad is very refreshing. The prices are very reasonable. Got a decent bottle of wine for $20. I would definitely recommend it!

Visited with my husband today for the 1st time. He had the Pad Thai, and I had the Seafood Curry, both Medium Spice. The hubby doesn't like much spice but I do. He ordered Medium as many restaurants really don't spice at all if you ask for Mild. His was a bit too spicy but still ok. Mine had no spice whatsoever...disappointed. I'm not sure if the sauce absorbed the spiciness or what but was still tasty. Would order again if not in the mood for a spicy dish or may try Hot instead. I asked the server, and they don't have any spicy soups whatsoever :( The interior is pleasant & comfortable. Nicer than usual for a Thai restaurant and has outdoor seating. My only real complaint is that the server took our drink order and actually waited (several minutes) till our appetizer was ready and brought everything together. IMO they take avoiding too many trips to a table a bit too far, and they weren't that busy. Despite any issues, it was overall a nice visit and we look forward to our next one. Would definitely recommend.

Reliable sushi by east side standards, great cooked food, but recently the staff seems to have become slow. I also wish they'd have a better sake list, but that's obviously a small thing. As I write this, I am waiting for a carryout for 40 minutes and thinking of canceling the order. Hopefully the staff will get back on track and we'll go back to being regulars.

I have eaten here enough times now to say with certainty this is the best Thai food around. I just had the most delicious Drunken Noodles with squid and Tom Yum with chicken I have ever had anywhere. I get something different every time I eat here and have never had a bad meal. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is very enjoyable as well. I highly recommend this restaurant and can almost guarantee if you are a fan of Thai food you will not be disappointed. But beware...they take spicy seriously here! If you say spicy you'd better mean it so order accordingly. I generally order mine medium and that is perfect for me. Sushi is good too!

The area is a nice little main street, a couple of coffee places and a couple of sandwich places, and places for women to shop. This place seem to be a reasonable place for dinner. It's bigger than you think, with inside an outside seating. Outside seating allows decent people watching opportunities. Inside was pleasant enough. A good size menu, typical Thai offerings, with a couple of more traditional Chinese options. Typical Thai, with the price option of Tofu, Chicken, Pork, Beef, Shrimp. They start you off with the Thai chips - multiple color rice crispy chips. Prices are a little high, but not unreasonable. But the portions were quite large, so much that both the wife and I both took home left overs. The wife went with Pad Thai, with Tufo and mild heat, which was OK, a little bland, and Tufo is tough with Pad Thai - I always think you are better off with a stronger protein. I went with my favorite, Coconut yellow curry with potatoes and tufo, with medium heat. I really like letting the rice soak up the yellow curry. Medium was a little strong, but I could handle it. No complaints about the service, fast and efficient.

My little guy likes the broccoli cheese noodles (I did too). I also like the peanut noodles with fried tofu. Yummy! Great Thai tea and bubble drinks. I really like the fresh high quality food that they serve here. It's our favorite Thai restaurant ever.

We live nearby and eat here regularly. The food is great, we have never been disappointed with a dish. Everything is prepared well and presented nicely. The staff is very friendly, and even when we don't have one of the "regular" servers we know, the newer staff do just as good of a job, so I can tell they spend some time making sure everyone is well trained. The owner usually stops by and greets each guest personally - I hate when managers at chains do that, but it's sweet and endearing when this lady does it. You can tell she genuinely cares and wants to make sure you're happy. The sushi room addition added several more booths which you can't see from the outside or when you walk in, so it's usually no problem getting a booth if you prefer that. They also have an outside seating area. The restaurant is located right in the heart of the Village and there's a municipal lot directly behind it and street parking.

I hadn't had Thai for a while so I was excited to try TN Thai Bistro. I didn't realize they served sushi until I got there, and if I ever went back that's what I would order. My dining companion ordered a nice little sashimi salad that looked great, and was nicely priced at $6. I, on the other hand, ordered the "special", and was really disappointed. It was advertised as a chicken dish with broccoli, spinach and topped with a peanut sauce. I like all those things so I decided to try it. I thought it would be a stir fry kinda thing, but it was these dry chicken planks placed on a bed of spinach and broccoli and the whole thing SOAKED in peanut sauce. The spinach was so soaked in it that I couldn't taste the spinach at all, just the sauce oozing out of it. Kinda makes me a little queasy thinking of it. I don't like to complain and am usually a trooper, but when my dining companion saw how miserable I was trying to get this thing down we sent it back. The manager took it off the bill no questions asked, but I have to question who they have cooking their Thai dishes. It didn't look or taste authentic at all. It seemed like the kind of "Thai" dish someone would make who wasn't familiar with the cuisine. I've spent considerable time in California and have had some of the best and most authentic Thai food you can get outside of Thailand, and this just didn't stack up. I felt sorry for our poor server who apologized profusely, who I told not to worry and it wasn't her fault. Awkward. The sushi menu looked good, and when I went to the restroom I poked my head around the corner where they have the sushi bar in the back. It looked real nice. Next time I would only get the sushi. They totally lost me on the Thai. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and not judge all the Thai dishes on the basis of just this one, but anyone who would send out chicken that dry and soak a dish with that much peanut sauce so that it's the ONLY thing you taste clearly shows me they have a serious disconnect about Thai food, and simply what tastes good (NOT a quart of peanut sauce). I hope they get their kitchen remedied because it's a nice location.

I eat here all the time with my friends as there's something on the menu for everyone. As an experienced consumer of Thai food, their menu is solid, but not special. They definitely tone down the spiciness. I ordered my meal with 'hot' spicing, and was warned repeatedly that this was "very spicy." After reassuring them that I would be fine I was disappointed to find that the spicing was closer to what I'd consider 'medium' at most places. They also offer a 'no spice' option, which is quite popular with the locals. Staff is polite and efficient, and the dining room is clean and is designed to look "Thai." It's usually populated by families or groups of friends. Not a bad place to eat.

Ugh. I'm so disappointed! I was excited to try this restaurant thinking how great it would be to have a Thai place so near to home. I tried to go here tonight and couldn't get served. We were seated after about a five minute wait. Someone brought our water and the poufy chips. Wait staff walked by. Other tables were sat and had their orders taken. It was as though we had disappeared. Fifteen minutes without any other acknowledgement from an employee and we left; never to return.

I have never even had a mediocre experience here! That's a feat in itself!! My BF and I have had both the Thai and the Sushi. Again ALWAYS GOOD!! The Pad Thai with tofu and coconut curry sauce is like the song Dream Weaver should play while you eat it. No for real it's that good. It's like a dish of dreamy noodles slipping around in this golden yellow sauce of the gods!! Yes I like it!!! ahahaha Can you tell!! My fav sushi roll is the spicy volcano. Yummers! The seaweed salad is chilled and seasoned just right and they give you a nice helping of it which is great because sea weed salad is one of my all time fav foods. The service is beyond friendly, the guys working the sushi bar are so awesome. I enjoy sitting up there more so then in a booth. Jasmine tea! Then serve yummy hot or iced jasmine tea that's to die for. I am always torn when I go on which one to order. They do not have a full bar but they do serve beer and wine. which works!! So grab a pal or your honey and take a stroll thru the village and get some yummy Thai to warm your belly!!

My sidekick Pepper (who always makes me decide dinner) is decisive all of a sudden and says she wants sushi and we have limited time left to get it so I whip out the Yelp! app on my phone and see a place called TN Thai Bistro close by with decent reviews. The restaurant is long and narrow with one side of the restaurant all window, which is nice because Kercheval is nice to look at. The servers here have a demeanor that is so pleasant that I feel like I just had a massage after dealing with them. Seared Ahi Tuna looked not so seared (I'm used to a blackened crust) but the the taste was top. The sushi (Yellow Tail, TN Roll) where very good. Salad with house dressing (like a ginger vinagarete or something) was just ok. I want to come back and try the Thai Food next time.

Ah, the Village in Grosse Pointe. Home of quaint shops, the affluent walking pure-bred dogs in relaxed comfort and... Thai food? As a former GP resident who needed to eat between a rehearsal and a gig in the area, I was just hoping for an OK sandwich shop when I stumbled upon this place. My meal started with a fragrant, comforting soup with a coconut base. The kow pad fried rice was not greasy; its veggies and sauce combined to give a pleasant, outdoor grill flavor. The veggie pad pak sauce was refreshingly thin; at mild strength, it subtly illuminated (rather than obscured) the perfectly crisp veggies with a light, spicy tang. The spring roll was steamy and thready, accompanied by a fruity plum sauce. Though not as splendid as the redoubtable Thai Taste in Troy, TN Thai Bistro is way above average Thai fare. First, an African-American president and now find Thai food in Grosse Pointe. Could a Lions Super Bowl be next? Sorry, got carried away.

Whoa! Wasn't expecting it...but it truly is the best sushi in town! My mother and I go here all the time when I'm home in Michigan to visit, and now that I've moved home, we've made it a weekly tradition to have lunch here in downtown Grosse Pointe. My favorites are the Village Roll (not on the menu, just ask!), the Inside Out Salmon Roll, and the Dragon Roll. Not feeling sushi? They have an entire thai menu that never disappoints. My favorite is the Pad Thai with shrimp, or the TN Thai duck. Enjoy, yelpers!

I want to commend TN Thai Bistro in Grosse Point for an excellent dinner. First, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and were promptly seated in the dining room. We were having my birthday dinner, and my wife and I had our 14 month old son and my father in law with us. After we were seated, we were promptly greeted by our waiter, who offered drinks as usual, but then offered to get food out right away for our son because he apparently knew about kids waiting for food. When he took our dinner order, he offered us the special which he described in detail, and was very attentive to our order, making sure to vet it for possible allergy problems, Which fortunately we don't have. Our food was delivered after our son ate. The Rangoon was perfectly cooked and the sushi was wonderful. We will come back because this place is picking up its game.

I take the cruise down Jefferson from downtown Detroit (Even though I lived ACROSS THE STREET from Salathai) I place my to go order with the lovely hostesses in the front, and then mosey on over to Trader Joe's or Border's or even the ACE Hardware. I lived in Grosse Pointe Park for two years. Yet it took me until today, 3 years later, to make it into TN Thai Bistro. There are many reasons I moved out of Grosse Pointe, but had I tried TN Thai earlier, this place would NOT be one of them. The atmosphere leaves some to be desired, and I wanted to throw up in my mouth listening to the GP high school girls in the booth behind me going on endlessly in valley girl accents talking about the girls at school that they don't like, and all the terrible things they do to bully them both in person and online. Disgusting. But that's a whole other conversation.... Onto the food!!! My friend and I each had a bowl of miso. We split a philadelphia roll, a shrimp california, and a specialty roll called the Michigan. 2 regular rolls, 1 specialty, and the soups - $25!!!! We even had sushi left over! Unbelievable. Especially considering many places will charge $15 for a specialty roll alone. The philly and shrimp cali were good, but it's pretty hard to mess them up. The Michigan roll is a combination of tuna, yellowtail, cucumber and I think something else. Speciality rolls are often larger, but this roll took it to a new level. It was near impossible to fit in my mouth (that's what she said)! And when I did manage to cram it in there, it filled my mouth up so much that it took about a solid minute before I was able to swallow it down (again...that's what she said). This colossal roll was the reason why we had some left over. I guess we got the most for our money, but all I could think of was that i was glad I was with a girlfriend and not on a date! Add the Michigan roll to the list of things that are awkward to eat in front of someone you are trying to impress. The sushi is good, and comes out relatively fast. I cannot believe the good prices! I will be making it a point to stop by here and try more of their sushi menu next time I am in GP. By time we got our check, all the other tables in our section had cleared out, yet it took our server a good 10 minutes to pick it back up once we put our credit card in. Why? No biggie though, we were happily chatting anyway. And I can't wait til karma catches up with those terrible girls.

There's a lot to like about TN. The location is very nice, in the village (?) area of GP. The service is very friendly - they opened for us a few minutes early. And the food is pretty good. I had the Pad Eggplant combo plate. There was plenty of eggplant, which I was craving, and it was tasty. The lunch combo is a good value - fried rice + springroll. The springroll, though, is probably the weakest part of the meal. Something about it tasted a little off. Also, if you work at the nearby hospital, you get 10% off your lunch (score!). If I'm feeling like Thai while in GP, I'm heading to TN.

This is the best Thai food I have had in Michigan and the quality has remained consistent throughout the years. While they do have some dishes that are not authentic like the sesame chicken, you can get authentic dishes and in my opinion they all taste good. Some of my favorites are the cheesy noodle, prik king and voon sen aside from the common dishes like pad thai, kow pad, etc. After moving to Ann Arbor, I have not found another restaurant that compares to this one. As a Grosse Pointe native, I feel like this place is a gem amongst all the classic American restaurants. It's the only sushi outlet I know of in the area and is one of the few restaurants with outdoor seating. I am a bit biased since I worked here during highschool but that was back in 2006 when it opened. I worked in the back so I know the sauces were made by the cooks as well as myself since I had to prepare them every morning when I was a server.

We waited for exactly fifteen minutes to be served, but a waiter never arrived. The two tables in our section that came in several minutes after us were served promptly. So we left. We had a fine meal at the Village Grille down the street. After having dessert at a local frozen yogurt store and I dropped back in too T.N. Bistro to mention our experience with manager... only to be told that the manager had left the building and would not be back until tomorrow. This was at 9:44pm. So I simply left. The service at this restaurant is good, and it's nice that they give you a basket of those fish flavored rice chips when you sit down. But there is something seriously off with the dishes. I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and his parents. We all ordered different dishes, and each one of us some some sort of complaint (well, not his mother because she's too sweet to complain about anything). The boyfriend's father got tofu noodles with peanut sauce and said it had no flavor. Boyfriend got red tofu curry that made him sick. And I ordered, as I always order at a Thai restaurant, veggie pad see ewe... but this noodle dish, unlike all others I've had before, came out black. Black?! Yes, black. Clearly they had burnt the soy sauce, but on top of that, I did not taste any sweetness or fish sauce, which are the only other 2 flavoring ingredients in pad see ewe. Soy sauce, sugar, fish sauce...not that hard to mess up. I've even made better at home. Luckily, just about any dish stir fried dish can be saved with the addition of some sambal oelek... unfortunately, this time it was used to mask the flavors rather than enhance them. But maybe their sushi is ok?

Was ok. Nothing tasted great. The crabcakes were decent but I've had better. Been there a few times and kitchen seems inconsistent as well as the staff. The vegi's in the tofu veg dish were hardly trimmer not cut into mouth size pieces. If your going to do that at least provide me with a knife. Service was lacking in general.

TN Thai Bistro, wheres the Thai food I had Japanese? I walked in and it looked like a small cafe shop, but if you walk in further than you'll see a seating area with a wide open concept. The place was very simple and right to the point the first seating area looked like a coffee shop where you would just grab a drink and sit and chat it up. The 2nd part of the place looked more like a place you would sit down and dine which was a nice concept. The reason we were here was to get sushi, but I was already a little worried about the sushi b/c the name of the place is TN Thai Bistro. Japanese food at a Thai named restaurant I dunno. But mind you all the places I've been to in Michigan haven't disappointed me yet. The many waitresses that were serving us were very friendly and even gave us suggestions on what to get especially since it was my first time there, my cousins on the other hand have been there many times. Overall the sushi was very good, the rice was well done, the seaweed they used was very fresh and crisp and the fish that they used tasted fresh as well. My only complaint is that they used a little too much rice on the maki rolls but it wasn't overwhelming like other places. Only reason it got three stars from me is b/c I haven't tried the whole Thai portion of the menu yet. Items to definitely get: - spicy volcano - spider roll - spicy salmon roll

This restaurant was recommended by employee at Trader Joe's, so I gave it a try. My girl friend and I decided to order Sushi and not the Thai food. The service was good, but the sushi was not anything special at all. We ordered 3 different 'special' rolls and each were very bland. Not that it's a big deal, but the appearance of the Sushi was also disappointing. Came out on plain white plate, nothing special. Guess we are used to being spoiled by Asahi Sushi in Clinton Township, by far the best all round Sushi and Korean/Japanese food around!

This place is very much open! Please update listing. My current favorite Thai restaurant. The atmosphere is so inviting-beautiful, airy, pleasant, and clean. The staff is always sweet and pleasant, very attentive, and on the ball without being overbearing. An owner or manager lady also checks in from time to time with the most contagious smile ever. You can get a glass of wine, the prices are decent, they're kid friendly, and most importantly the food is delicious! LOVE the green curry and they never get my picky order wrong. Portions are huge! The delicious homemade coconut ice cream will have the table raving. The ambiance of the newly opened sushi room is intimate and lovely too. Consistently a wonderful experience.

Went here dinner with 4 friends. Food is excellent. Pad curry is my favorite dish. Service is phenomenal. Probably the best secret in grosse pointe for Thai. I will probably go back twice a month if not more.

Big variety of Asian dishes. General most Asian fusion restaurants are pretty weak at doing more than Americanized Chinese, that is not the case here. Good Chinese and Thai dishes as well as some tasty sushi. I highly recommend giving them a chance, their satay is delicious and the avocado delight is a-maz-balls!

We love this place. Tried Thai for the first time and I like it a lot. Love the sushi too. First time I have ever had scallop sashimi and it is excellent. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended.

We always get take out from here. The pad thai is pretty good. The coconut mushroom soup with tofu is also amazing. If you dine in they give u these crispy chips that are delish. The prices are fair.
